Privacy Policy

NiceList ("NiceList," "we," "us," or "our") helps people create wishlists, share them with friends and family, and coordinate group gifts. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using NiceList, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email address, profile photo and date of birth when you create an account, and a phone number if you add one.
• Content you create — wishlists, items, circles, events, messages, photos, and the people you choose to share with.
• Contacts, only if you choose — if you ask NiceList to find friends from your contacts, the app sends the phone numbers and email addresses in your contacts to our server to check which of them are already on NiceList. We use them only for that match and don't save them. You can say no and still use every other part of NiceList.
• Camera and photos, only if you choose — when you take or pick a photo for your profile, a circle or a message.
• Payment information — when you contribute to or purchase a gift, payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers; Stripe handles card details under its own security standards.
• Products you look at — we keep a note of the products you open while browsing in NiceList, so search and gift suggestions can get better at finding things you'll love, and we never show it to other people.
• Usage and device information — basic analytics and diagnostics (such as device type, app interactions and crash reports), a device token so we can send the notifications you turn on, and cookies or similar technologies used to keep you signed in and keep NiceList reliable.

2. How we use your information

• To provide and personalize the NiceList experience (wishlists, circles, group gifts, reminders).
• To process gift contributions and purchases through our payment provider.
• To send service messages, such as gift updates, invitations you've opted into, and important account notices.
• To keep NiceList safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run NiceList — for example, with people you choose to share a wishlist or circle with, and with trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards: Clerk (sign-in), Railway and Supabase (hosting and database), Sentry (crash reports), Mixpanel (app analytics), Branch (links that open the app), Google Firebase and Expo (push notifications), and Stripe (payments). We do not sell your personal information.

4. Payments

Gift contributions and purchases are processed by Stripe. Your use of payment features is also subject to Stripe's privacy policy. We receive limited payment metadata (such as confirmation status and amount) needed to coordinate a gift, but not your full card details.

5. Your choices and rights

You can review and update your profile and manage who you share with at any time. You can delete your account in the app, under Me → Settings → Delete account, or by asking us; here's how, and what is deleted. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information.

6. Data retention & security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. When you delete your account, you have 15 days to change your mind by signing in again and tapping Keep my account; after that your profile and wishlists are permanently deleted. Records of purchases we are required to keep stay on file, but no longer show your name. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data, though no method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure.

7. Children's privacy

NiceList is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
